"So they finally decided to join the Republic." Anakin Skywalker said with a smug look on his face.
He was standing alongside Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Captain of the star cruiser they were traveling in.
"The people of Kashmir are philosophers." Obi-Wan explained studying the hologram in front of them. "It is no surprise that they took so long to respond to our request."
"We're nearing our destination." The Captain announced.
Just as the words left his mouth they saw the light blue aura of the planet they were about to board soon. Suddenly, the lights around the room began blinking rapidly and the klaxons started blaring.
A clone soldier walked into the room. "Sir, I think we have Separatist presence on Kashmir."
"Strange." Obi-Wan commented rubbing his beard thoughtfully. "This was a secret meeting. Only the Jedi Council and this squad knew about it."
Anakin began waving his unlit lightsaber around. "This is where the fun begins."
"Your enthusiasm scares me more than what we are about to encounter."
"Lieutenant Dexter." The Captain took the pad from his subordinate. "Why are images of the planet blurred?"
Sure enough, the holo-map view was constantly being distorted akin to static.
"I've never seen this happen before." Anakin commented.
"Guess we will figure out what is happening once we land." Obi-Wan said sadly.
***
The planet of Kashmir did not betray its light blue aura as had been seen from the viewport of the ship. The terrain was extremely icy. The weather was chilly to the bone. Luckily, the Jedi Knights as well as the clone troopers were well-equipped for these conditions.
Anakin was busy studying the atmosphere of Kashmir, waiting for Obi-Wan to finish his hologram chat with the Kashmiri elders.
"Alright, it's done." Obi-Wan came back to face Anakin and the clone squad assigned to them. "I told the Kashmiri elders that there will be a delay in the talks. First we have to deal with the strange presence here."
The Commander in charge of the squad opened up a hologram on his wristpad. It showed two red dots and there was a fair distance between them. "How are we doing this, Generals?"
"We'll take Point A." Obi-Wan said pointing his finger at his and Anakin's destination. "Your group can take Point B. Remember, it could be nothing. A simple error."
"Aye, aye, General." The Commander said and with that he led the troops to Point B.
"Hope we get the entertaining part." Anakin said with a mischievous grin on his face and an unlit lightsaber raised in his grip.
Obi-Wan sighed. "That's what I'm afraid of."
They pulled their hoods tighter over their heads as they traversed the uneven surface of the frosted planet to their destination.
After walking what seemed like half an hour, they saw a mysterious figure near the entrance of a small cave. On closer inspection, the person lying on the ground was definitely humanoid. The attire he wore did not seem to be Core World fashion. A purple jacket over a black T-shirt and pants. His hair color was of a lighter shade of his jacket's color.
"Not sure if he's unconscious or dead." Anakin stated the obvious as they tiptoed towards the body.
"I can sense his breathing." Even from such a distance Obi-Wan's connection with the Force was strong.
All of a sudden, the stranger opened his eyes, started rubbing his head and then sat up.
"We mean you no harm." Obi-Wan said as he and Anakin came closer.
Suddenly, the figure raised a hand and Obi-Wan was shoved off his feet and into the wall of ice behind him though the Force-push was not strong enough to break the structure.
Anakin was looking backwards at his former Master and this proved to be only a split second difference between having his head sliced off by the lightsaber which sizzled against his own.
Anakin was more surprised by the color of his attacker's lightsaber rather than anything else that had been and was occurring. "You're a Jedi?!"
His attacker was so strong that Anakin had to kneel down to struggle against the stranger's might. The purple-haired lightsaber wielder then pulled away his weapon only to slam it hard against Anakin's blue blade, forcing the Jedi Knight off his knees and on to his back. The hit was followed by three more slams until Anakin was inches away from being beheaded by two swords.
Guess this is it, Anakin thought. Goodbye, Padme.
But what followed was not the sound of a lightsaber searing flesh but of metal hitting bone. The next thing Anakin saw was the assailant lying face-first on the ground beside him.
Obi-Wan was standing over Anakin with his unlit lightsaber in his hand. He had hit the hilt on the back of the could be Jedi's head.
"I'm sure that qualifies as entertaining." Obi-Wan smiled offering a hand to his ex-Padawan.

Upon hearing about the strange events that had occurred on Kashmir, the Jedi Council postponed the meeting with the Kashmiris indefinitely. They wanted to find out as much about this rogue Jedi as soon as possible.
Having arrived on Coruscant, the prisoner was first sent to the med bay. Obi-Wan and Anakin were in Yoda's office informing the latter as well as Mace Windu about the bizarre happenings that had transpired hours ago.
"Strange it is." Yoda muttered with a thoughtful expression on his wizened face. "Never seen this young fellow before, I have."
"Neither have I." Windu said with his arms crossed and a serious look on his clean-shaved face which always seemed to be there regardless of the situation.
"Upon entering the Jedi Temple," Obi-Wan informed his fellow Council members, "we had the assailant scanned and there was no match found in our database."
The four fell silent for a few minutes until Anakin broke the quiet. "But why would a Jedi attack a fellow Jedi?"
As if answering the young man's question, a hologram of a medical droid appeared on Mace's wristpad."The patient is stable and in healthy condition. We also found no trace of intoxicants that could have led to him involuntarily attacking General Skywalker."
Mace nodded and cut off the live transmission. "I think it's best we visit the patient in person."
The four walked out of Yoda's quarters.
"You can move along, General Skywalker." Mace told him as soon as the door automatically closed behind them. "It's best that matters like these are only attended by members of the Council."
Anakin opened his mouth to protest but closed it as soon as he saw Senator Padme Amidala hiding in a corner and motioning the Jedi Knight towards her.
He waited until the rest of the Jedi were gone and then walked towards his beloved.
"What are you doing here all by yourself?" Anakin said with a surprised but pleased look on his face. "And better yet, how are you here, alone?"
Padme grinned mischievously. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve. But I'm afraid they (her associates) will catch up to me soon."
"I'm guessing you're not here to just say hello?" Anakin was painfully resisting the urge to embrace Padme in his arms.
"Sadly, no." Padme's grin spread wider and wider. "Listen. I got a pass to vacation on Luther."
Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Wow. They don't just let anyone in there."
"Exactly. I have an old friend who invited me to enjoy the restaurants, spas, you name it." She came closer to her husband and lowered her voice. "The people there mind their own business. No politics. And the Senate has requested I take a bodyguard." She winked.
"So I guess this'll be our second honeymoon." Anakin whispered while keeping an eye on the influx and outflux of people in the hallway to see if anyone was spying on their conversation. "It will be fun to spend a whole day together."
"Three days." The Senator from Naboo corrected him.

The unidentified assailant was locked behind an electric field and had his back against the wall of an otherwise unoccupied room. Due to the electric field being emitted a bit upwards, his feet were many inches above ground level. If the wall wasn't present it would look as if he were dangling in mid-air.
The three Jedi Council members informed the stranger of what had occurred hours ago. They told him that the second red dot was an escape pod (white colored with the screen-door having been tinted purple). They also told him that as a parachute was found near his body, it was most likely he had been ejected from that same pod.
While they waited for an explanation, Obi-Wan stared at the prisoner and noticed an uncanny resemblance. No, it's not possible-
His thoughts were interrupted by the detainee. "You're right about almost everything." He told them with a half-smile, half-frown.
"So, you admit to being a rogue Jedi?" Obi-Wan asked him.
"Let's cut to the point." Mace was not predisposed to small talk. "Who are you and why did you crash land on Kashmir?"
"I am from the future." The stranger said with such an expression which showed that he might not have been lying. "My name is Trunks. And that escape pod is my ship. I did not enter the correct coordinates so I landed in Kashmir by mistake. But I was supposed to come here."
Those comments put a long delay on the responses from the interrogators. Finally, it was Yoda who broke the silence. "What you say if true? Then why come to this point in time you have?"
Trunks' playful expression was replaced by one of grave seriousness. "I came to warn you that the Jedi Order will be wiped out. The end of the Clone Wars means the end of the Jedi."
Mace uncharacteristically smirked. "Hmph. That is even more preposterous than making us believe you're a time traveler."
"There is no time travel capability on your ship." Obi-Wan explained. "And we are getting closer and closer to winning this war by the day."
"That is all I have to say." Trunks said.
Another long silence followed in which the Jedi thoughtfully looked at the floor for what seemed like eternity.
"About this, we can talk at another time." Yoda said moving towards the exit. Mace and Obi-Wan followed.
"I said I was done talking," Trunks repeated, "but not to Obi-Wan Kenobi."
All three Jedi froze in their tracks. Obi-Wan glanced at his colleagues and they gave him the go-ahead. A few moments later, there were only two people present inside the room.
***
"I see. I see." The Supreme Chancellor rubbed his palms together as if planning something diabolical.
Yoda had just finished informing him about what Trunks had said. He sat with the other ten members of the Jedi Council on their designated platform. Yoda had not informed the Chancellor about Obi-Wan's absence, and to the green alien's relief, Palpatine was not curious
"Let me talk to my advisor, Mas Amedda, on this matter." Palpatine said with a concerned look on his face. "I will get back to you all soon."
With that, the hologram which was positioned on a device in the center of the room was switched off.
***
"I am your son." Trunks finally made Obi-Wan replace his gaze on the floor with a look of disbelief aimed at the youngster.
"Impossible." Obi-Wan muttered and seemed to be out of breath.
"Yes. I am the son of Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore."
After that latter name was mentioned, Obi-Wan returned his eyes to the ground. "Satine is dead."
"In this timeline." Trunks explained. "But from where I come from she was alive and we three were a family."
Obi-Wan did not know what to say. It was even more troublesome for the General that Trunks' eyes were so eerily similar to his late beloved's.
"I believe you." Obi-Wan finally said.
"Good. I knew you would." Trunks smiled. "Now you must help me kill Anakin Skywalker."
Obi-Wan literally took a few steps back. "But you informed us that you attacked him as a result of the time travel. You were not in your senses."
"I lied." Trunks revealed. "I only wanted you to know the truth."
Without saying another word, Obi-Wan departed the quarters. He was as confused after leaving the room as he had been upon first entering it.
***
"You know what you must do, Darth Tyranus." Palpatine sneered under a hood which hid most of his facial features.
Count Dooku was in a knelt-down position with his eyes to the floor but his full attention to the man speaking through the hologram in front of him.
"I will, my Lord." Dooku replied as still as a statue. "But isn't this all a tad premature?"
You are to return as soon as the target has been eliminated."
"Yes, my Lord."
The hologram disappeared.

Luther was a rich planet. It earned eighty percent of its wealth through tourism. But only those invited to the planet by an honorary citizen could enjoy the uniqueness it had to offer.
"Anakin put me down!" Padme screamed with a joyful look on her face.
"Not yet." Anakin said and leaped forward closing a great distance yet the height of his jump remained pretty much the same.
Luther was unique as it was of the few cloud-based planets that existed in the known galaxy. Everything was located on hilltops which ranged from small and medium to extremely large. And some hills were unoccupied. Like the ones Anakin was traversing with a Senator held in his arms.
He finally stopped hopping hills when he came to one quite above them.
"I will end our marriage if you try to leap there." Padme warned.
Anakin closed his eyes and grinned. "You call that a diplomatic solution?"
Summoning the Force and increasing his connection with it compared to the last few jumps, he took a giant leap forward. Padme already had her eyes closed as they soared like birds through the breezy air and then landed with an earth-shaking thud on the next hilltop.

Alarms blared across the Jedi Temple, devices which perhaps had not been used in centuries.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was in the library reading upon Jedi Lore regarding the future when he stood up from the table after hearing the initial sound.
Jocasta Nu acknowledged Obi-Wan's circumspect stare. She knew she had to hide the Padawans underground but she also had to make sure that she and all of the younglings were well-equipped for any intruders. Mace Windu appeared in the room as soon as Nu had exited it. He informed Obi-Wan that Coruscant had been illegally entered by General Grievous and a massive Separatist fleet.
Outside the library, the Jedi met up with a squad of clones who were armed to the full.
All three of them (the third being the Commander) walked alongside each other with the clones right behind them, and were discussing strategies while people ran helter-skelter around them.
"I am pleased to inform you that the Chancellor is safe." Mace told Obi-Wan. "And that no attempt has been made to capture or harm him. Yet."
"Will General Skywalker be joining us, Sir?" The Commander directed his question to Obi-Wan as soon as all of them had stepped outside of the Temple.
Obi-Wan stopped in his tracks. He had just remembered that he had left his wristpad in his quarters and he was one of the few people who knew where his former Padawan was located.

Trunks tried to break through his blue-tinted and almost transparent cage but it was to no result.
He heard a noise come from above him. And he was not surprised when a mysterious blue alien dressed in cowboy attire dropped down from the one vent in the ceiling.
"I guess the price was right." Trunks sneered at his latest visitor.
Cad Bane returned the smile and with a bonus: two LL-30 blaster pistols pointed at the defenseless fighter.
"The price was right." Cad grimaced. "And this job has proven to be just too easy."
He didn't expect so much money for such a simple task. He fired both pistols at the same time. What he did not also anticipate was Trunks using the Force with only his mind to direct the trajectory to the pad on the wall to the bottom right of the bounty hunter.
Within a split second, Trunks was free. He rubbed his wrists and cracked his knuckles. A devilish grin encompassed his face.
Cad had his pistols raised towards the ceiling planning what to do next when Trunks raised a hand. Cad's whole body was pushed towards the wall behind him— and unlike the countless other times that Force had been used on him, he couldn't move a muscle. If it weren't for that wall it would have seemed like he was suspended in mid-air.
The guns in his grasp were quite possibly fatally useless.
***
Obi-Wan found his wristpad on the one desk in his minimalist quarters. He put it on and was just about to call his closest ally when he heard some commotion in a place near to where the prisoner was being held. On a second listen, he was certain that the noise was coming from Trunk's prison.
***
"You're mighty strong for a Jedi." Cad said with his body frozen akin to being stored in carbonite.
Trunks was about to correct him when he made out someone's footsteps fast approaching them. He closed his eyes and reached out with his free hand. Just as the automatic door whooshed open to let Obi-Wan inside with his ignited lightsaber raised, there was a loud crack on the wall to the left of Bane's head, and a lightsaber hilt was pulled towards Trunks' hand. He opened his eyes to face the Jedi General and simultaneously ignited his purple blade.
"Let the bounty hunter go." Obi-Wan warned taking up his signature stance. "This fight is between us."
Trunks acknowledged Obi-Wan's order with a flick of the hand which led to the Duros making a hole in the wall on Trunks' side.
Obi-Wan launched himself into what would have been be his first duel with his son but was cut short by another item breaking through the wall. This time it was Trunks' escape pod-sized ship which almost crashed into Obi-Wan if he hadn't relented at the last second. He was blind for a few seconds due to the aftermath of the wall breaking apart. White smoke and debris blocked his view for some moments before he got to his feet. But the pause was enough for Trunks to enter his vessel and the vehicle ascended away from the Jedi General, and the next thing Obi-Wan saw was it vacating the planet's atmosphere.
What he also noticed was a dot of light which had shined right after the ship had gotten off the ground.
The next predicament Cad Bane found himself in was having a lightsaber pointed at his throat.
"I think you value your life more than your money, Cad Bane." Obi-Wan smiled.
The bounty hunter grunted then hesitantly handed Obi-Wan the transponder of the tracking device he had shot into Trunks' ship.

Entering Coruscant was easy enough with the codes he had received from Count Dooku, but faking a siege proved to be way more difficult.
"Sir, are we to attack the enemy?" One droid asked General Grievous while his back was to the machine. "The enemy is right outside-"
The cyborg warrior severed the droid's head with one of his lightsabers before he could finish.
Grievous stared at the other droids standing near him. "You better make sure the next thing which comes out of you-" he started coughing asthmatically.
"Roger, roger." The two droids said in unison and hurriedly dismissed themselves.
Grievous returned to staring through the viewport of his shuttle's main deck.
He could not wait to get off this wretched planet.
***
During their first battle, Trunks had planted a tracker which inserted itself under Anakin's skin. He was following the signal while being extra careful not to slip off a hilltop by mistake. He was happy he did not have to waste time in killing people or machines to enter Luther. A Force-deception from space had done the trick.
***
Padme was lying down on the sofa-cum-bed with her head rested upon her husband's lap. They were in their hotel room sipping expensive wine courtesy of Padme's friend who had invited her here. The secret couple remained silent knowing that this was their last day here. The next morning they were to depart from this luxurious capital aptly named Luther City. Golden sunlight shined through the wide window in front of them. Anakin noticed the way it sensually enriched the fulsomeness of his beloved's brown hair. He was about to run his fingers through it when his wristpad beeped.
"Rex?" Anakin positioned the hologram in such a way that Padme could not be revealed.
"General." The clone said with utmost seriousness. "I'm afraid to inform you that there has been a siege on Coruscant. By General Grievous, Sir."
After hearing that, Padme slipped from beneath Anakin's muscular arms and tiptoed to the bar but with no intention of refilling her glass.
Anakin acknowledged Padme's knowing look before telling Rex that he would get there right away.
***
When Trunks was a few meters away from the hotel, he noticed Anakin in his battle armor lovingly embracing Senator Amidala outside the front entrance.
Trunks ignited his lightsaber and the purple glow cast a light on his face. He was about to jump off the edge of the hilltop when he was prematurely lifted off from his feet.
The purple-haired swordsman landed on an adjacent hill. Unbeknownst to him and his attacker, these were the same hills that Anakin and Padme were having fun upon a day ago. Trunks realized the Force-push was a warning as he had been caught off-guard and could have easily been killed. So he was not surprised to see his father standing on the hill he himself was standing on mere moments ago.
Obi-Wan's lightsaber was lit but held to his side.
"You could've finished me there and then." Trunks said keeping his lightsaber in the same position as his father. "That was a non-fatal blow."
"Stop what you are planning this instant, Trunks." Obi-Wan pleaded with his son. "Violence is not necessary when words can suffice."
Trunks responded with his lightsaber raised in both hands.
Obi-Wan sighed mimicking the movement. "So be it."
The General leaped but did not slash at his son when he reached him. Trunks dodged by rolling forward on the ground. Then Trunks retaliated by slamming his blade against Obi-Wan's but his strength wasn't enough to push the experienced fighter backwards.
Obi-Wan slightly pushed Trunks' weapon with his own and backflipped to another hill.
"Why are you after Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked shielding himself with his lightsaber when his son raised a hand but then there was no use of Force from him.
"Let me show you." Trunks said closing his eyes.
Obi-Wan felt a darkness lingering towards him. He closed his eyes and knew that what was coming towards him was a path to the Dark Side. He knew before but realized now why the Ancient Jedi had forbidden divination of any kind.
He repeated the mantra of the Jedi Code in his head:
There is no emotion, there is peace
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge
There is no passion, there is serenity
There is no chaos, there is harmony
There is no death, there is the Force.
Trunks grunted as he opened his eyes. "Amazing." He stared in shock as well as admiration at his father. "You're the first person to block out my divinatory wave."
Obi-Wan countered with a swift jump and an equally fast cut which Trunks was barely able to time against. Trunks then responded with a sweep of his feet trying to knock the Jedi General off-balance but Obi-Wan leapt just in time to slam his blade against his son's.
As they were face to face with only their blades in between them, Obi-Wan realized where he had seen this fighting technique before. No, it can't be! he thought backflipping away again.
"You can't kill Anakin." Obi-Wan said as they continued the duel on their new hilltop. "He is the Chosen One."
Trunks snickered. "There is no such thing as destiny."
He tried his best to touch any part of his father's flesh but Obi-Wan dodged and parried each strike with precision. "I thought Qui-Gon had taught you better than this."
This time Obi-Wan backflipped so high he reached the hilltop with a more mastered use of the Force that Anakin had a day ago.
"It's over, Trunks!" Obi-Wan declared. "I have the high ground!"
Trunks sneered. "You underestimated my power!"
"Don't try it!" Obi-Wan warned his son but to no avail.
Trunks somersaulted once to get off the ground and did another mid-air rolled to land behind Obi-Wan but one of his arms and both of his legs were severed with a single overhead swipe of Obi-Wan's blue blade. Trunks landed face-first on the ground in front of Obi-Wan. He was relentless; still trying to reach his lightsaber which was at the edge of the hill—behind Obi-Wan.
"If you had given me more time." Obi-Wan said shielding back tears. "I could have loved you."
The sad Jedi proceeded to pick up Trunks' lightsaber. "You were my son!"
Those were the last words Obi-Wan said to Trunks before exiting the area.
***
Trunks closed his eyes and used the Force to push a hidden button on the inside of his jacket (this button could only be activated by the wearer's Force). His ship appeared a few moments later and loudly landed on the hill. Trunks crawled through the grass with his one good arm until he finally reached the open entry point. He managed to get inside using the last of his physical strength.
Instead of lifting up and heading towards space, the shuttled simply vanished in the blink of an eye.
***
When Trunks had reached his destination, it was night-time and barely anything was visible outside the range of his ship's night lights. He got outside easily thanks to his new prosthetic limbs courtesy of the advanced technology stored inside his vessel. He tried them out and they responded perfectly to his nervous system.
"Your Master was a real thorn in the bud." He told the corpse of an aged Anakin who sported a beard and hairstyle similar to Ben Kenobi.
A few inches away from the dead Anakin, and also with his back against the wall of the mountain, lied the body of Trunks albeit with all his limbs intact.
The living Trunks closed his eyes and Force-pushed another button inside his jacket which led to a distortion of his entire being, and when it was over, the face, body and attire of the Clone Wars era Anakin replaced that of Trunks.
In the Star Wars/Dragon Ball Z universe, there existed a multiverse. This new Anakin was from Universe 5 and he existed for only one purpose: To kill or make someone else kill the Anakins of the other dimensions in order to drain their souls for more power.
"Portraying you proved to be a disadvantage, Trunks." Anakin shook his head at the dead Trunks as if the latter were playing dead. "I could not turn your father towards the Dark Side."
THE END?
